October 2006 Entries

Well, I knew I should have ordered a relay for one thing and sure enough, I need a relay. Hopefully it will be here before Thursday.

On the plus side, I can use the servos I bought for Operation ball drop. (which involves dropping 1000+ balls hence bal drop, clever eh?)

Things I got done.

  1. laundry
  2. maybe the bar
  3. part of the microsoft article
  4. fixed part of the operation ball drop
  5. Got progress on my server migration.

I learned a rather decent amount about migrating from apache to IIS. The htaccess caused IIS to appear to flip out. Could be the server set up but you never know.

Why can't the weekends be longer?

Ok, I have a plan ... that plan is to get caught up tonight.

  1. laundry
  2. Operation Ball Drop hardware end needs some work.
  3. Microsoft Halloween article
  4. Figure out a cool business name
  5. Watch clockwork orange and start picking up some of the vernacular
  6. Find a bar to rent out for my birthday
  7. Figure out a drink I can make in a 5 gallon gatorade water cooler for my halloween party
  8. Custom tool for myself
  9. Actually get some sleep

I just ordered a servo control along with an IR distance sensor for my phidget.

Spammers are quite possible the most annoying people on earth. I run this site, along with multiple other's off a shared server otherwise known as a reseller's plan (do a google search for it). However in the past few days, I've noticed a huge amount of bounce backs (1000 a day+) and I randomly checked the headers for them and oddly enough they are saying they are coming from this domain. Now I checked with a few other domains that are under my control and they too are seeing a similar thing.

This makes me believe that the spammer is on the same box with the same IP, but just claiming he is a different domain name since it will look more of a legit domain since you could do a bounce back to verify that it is a valid domain and it is coming from where it is claimed to be.

So now due to this crap, I need to switch everything (plus now I'll have a web server that will support c#!) but still, talk about making my life just a bit more hard.

? dick.

I came across this last night.

MS Live Search Macros

It pretty much lets you build your own search engine. You can make it search across multiple sites and what not.

Cool stuff.

Hello Mr. iTunes API

* insert evil laugh here, here and ... here *

Plus maybe I can force the app to work how I want it, by making the iTunes lib actually load the contents of my iPod (without actually loading it on my work computer) into my local dir so my peeps at work can mooch off of it.
