Drunktender’s state: Functional and getting prettier

I’ve tested the software pretty heavily and I think it is feature complete.  I before I’m going to show off the code, I need to clean up my naming scheme on some stuff.  I changed my naming scheme for UI elements half way through so … yeah, oops.

Here is the current UI, the graphics came from both Ian Hall and Jeff Couturier from 10volt Media.  Jeff really helped me out and whipped up a sweet magnifying glass while Ian did the glasses for me.  Note the glass effect with the whiskey glass.  I got graphics for both in Photoshop and Illustrator and used the new built-in convertor in Expression Blend 3.0 to turn the PSD and AI files in to XAML files.  I’m super lucky to have some talented friends that can make stuff look good.

The three things I’m not happy with currently are the sign out button in the right, the pour button on the pour screen and the back buttons on the pour / search screen (more so on the pour screen.).

Tomorrow I’ll create some videos of the system actually working with RFID and UI in full effect.

Hey Cliff,

Looking great!

I was going to give this suggestion in your last post, but maybe it's better here.

For the pouring screen, why don't you use your fancy cup and drink graphics as sort of a "progress" bar? As in, at the bottom of the screen, have the glass start empty, and as you pour in all of the elements, have it increase the drink level until it's full and ready to be taken. I know previoiusly you said you could modify the colors, but I'm not sure about the drink level. It could be a cool effect I think.

I was going to use that idea as a progress bar in my own robot, but it's currently on hiatus as I'm out of cash for side projects, so I figured I might as well suggest it to you since you are a lot further along than I will ever be!

You should probably add the drink name to pour screen.

@Alex, good call, the Win32 version has it, I didn't even think about it. I was interested more in getting it functional. The nice thing about WPF is mod the layout is pretty easy.

@Brian, I thought about that and it may be in the future, however I need to do some XAML tests for how I can pull off that animation.

Doing the liquid levels isn't totally as easy using the current glasses I think without alteration. Right now the liquid is a blog of data points. I'd have to alter the top and bottom so it goes up with time. The martini glass is actually the one that made me just move on. I have ideas on how to do this.

Overall, it would be a nice to have but for right now, it is a low priority item.

@Brian, also, as you'll see shortly, there is a slight "progress" bar for pouring when I do post the video of it in action.
